About the university

Three disciplines,
one accreditation.

UTME was chartered in 1987 on a simple premise: technology, management, and economics are not separate faculties competing for budget — they are one discipline, taught in three accents.

Most universities keep engineers, managers, and economists in separate buildings. We put them in the same studio courses, so a robotics thesis is defended in front of an economist, and a monetary policy paper is stress-tested by a systems engineer.

General Requirements

  • Certificate of secondary education or diploma translated into English.
  • Cumulative grade point average of secondary school results (including final exams) must be no lower than 60%.
  • All previous education certificates/diplomas must be officially recognised by the Center for Quality Assurance of Higher Education of Lithuania (www.skvc.lt).

For Business Studies Programmes

  • Average grade in English must be at least 70%.
  • Average grade in one additional subject (Mathematics, Geography, Biology, or Economics) must also be at least 70%.

For IT Studies Programmes

  • Average grade in Mathematics must be at least 70%.
  • Average grade in English must be at least 70%.

Students who do not meet the minimum English level can still be admitted but will complete one semester of the Academic English Preparatory Programme.

Admission Interview

All applicants must complete an admission interview with a UTME admissions officer. Your identity will be verified during the interview. Applicants with Academic Olympiad certificates or professional development courses may submit them for extra admission points.

UTME provides guidance on student housing across Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. Options range from €70 to €650/month depending on location and room type.

Tuition payments are processed after your study contract is signed. The application fee (€50) is non-refundable and must be paid before your admissions interview is scheduled.

  • Tuition can be paid in full or in two semester instalments.
  • International students: payment receipt is required to obtain your mediation code for the TRP process.

    Submit your online application

    Complete the application form and upload your secondary education certificate, English translation, and passport copy.

  • Step 2

    Pay the application fee

    €50 application fee — request an invoice from admissions@utme.lt.

  • Step 3

    Complete the English language test or submit proof

    Take the UTME online English test (Google Meet, 15 min) or submit an accepted English certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, etc.).

  • Step 4

    Attend the admissions interview

    Online interview with a UTME admissions officer. Identity verification required.

  • Step 5

    Receive your acceptance letter

    Conditional or full acceptance sent by email within 5–10 business days of your interview.

  • Step 6

    Sign your study contract & pay tuition

    Sign online and pay the first tuition instalment. Your mediation code for the TRP is issued after this step.

  • Step 7

    Apply for your Temporary Residence Permit (TRP)

    Submit via MIGRIS with your mediation code. Book a VFS Global appointment. Allow 4–6 months.

  • Step 8

    Arrive in Lithuania & begin studies

    UTME will support you with registration, accommodation guidance, and orientation on arrival.

English Language Requirement

A simple, convenient way to demonstrate your English skills.

Our online English Language Test takes place via Google Meet and is based on a friendly, conversation-style interview with one of our examiners for 15 minutes. It's a great opportunity to showcase your fluency, comprehension, and communication abilities as part of your admission process.

You do not need to take this test if you:

  • Are a native English speaker, or
  • Have completed a previous degree in English, or
  • Hold an accepted English proficiency certificate (such as IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, etc.)
Note: if your English grade on your 12th-grade certificate (final marksheet from secondary education) is below 50%, the test does not replace the subject requirements for the study programme.

Students from outside Lithuania study on a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP), typically issued for two years and renewable. Start early — the full process runs 4–6 months.
